We suggest you read the introductory material in the "Best-Paying Jobs with a High Percentage of Women" section to better understand the purpose of publishing the following lists. As we state in that section, we are not suggesting that the best jobs lists for men include the only jobs that men should consider.
For example, there is a strong demand for Registered Nurses, a job that employs a high percentage of women, so the few workers available are recruited aggressively and often find jobs quickly. Just as women should consider careers typically held by men, many men should consider career opportunities usually associated with women. This is particularly true now because occupations with high percentages of women workers are growing more rapidly than occupations in our similar lists for men.
In the best-paying jobs list for men, note that many of the top jobs-once you look below the professional-level health-care jobs-are in the business and technology fields and many are at the managerial level, whereas almost all of the primarily female jobs are in the healthcare field and none are at the managerial level. This difference confirms the concerns of many educators, counselors, and social advocates about sexual stereotyping of occupations. In many cases, both men and women would be well advised to consider occupations typically held by the opposite sex.
